Meet Stephanie
Why did I become a doula?
Have you ever been somewhere that felt like home? That’s how I felt when I went to my prenatal appointments with my midwife during my first pregnancy. It felt like home. I felt like I belonged there and that was what I was supposed to do— help other women have calm and positive pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences.
I didn’t fully understand what a doula was or see the need for one until I was in labor myself for the first time. I’ve personally seen how much of a difference steady, compassionate support can make. Since that experience, I have been passionate and felt a strong desire to bring the benefits of doula support to all pregnant women, especially those with barriers to receiving that support.
About Me
I’m an ICEA-trained Birth and Postpartum Doula, and I love walking alongside families through birth and early parenthood. I give guidance when you want it, encouragement when you need it, and a calm, steady presence the whole way—someone who is always rooting for you.
I live in Hancock County, Illinois with the world’s most supportive husband and two little kids that fill our home with love and laughter. I love being a mother. And I love giving birth. Motherhood is so challenging and so wonderful, all at the same time. When I’m not wrangling tiny humans, you’ll often find me trying out new recipes, crafting little projects with my kids, or curled up with a good historical fiction novel (The Emma M Lion books are my latest obsession!! So good).
Let’s Chat!
Birth is not just something to get through—it’s one of the most memorable experiences of your life. And when you feel supported, informed, and trusted, that experience can be empowering, even joyful. I’m passionate about supporting families through life’s big transitions and creating moments of connection, joy, and a little bit of magic along the way.
I would love to get to know you!
